Women's Retreats
What is a Woman's Sacred Circle?
Our Sacred Circle weekends are spiritual tours for women only. As one of the most profound leaders of our World has discovered inner strength from the Creator, so can we women find our power in a gentle way. Nelson Mandela has been an inspiration to all who have watched Great Spirit use him as an instrument for change not only for himself, but for the World. He said,
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us,
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear; our presence automatically liberates others."
- Marianne Williamson
Women have had nurturing roles for hundreds of years. It is time to nurture ourselves from our Earth Mother. While on the skin of our Earth Mother, we connect with our fellow sisters in a fun joyful celebration. We connect with Great Spirit and are taught Tribal Wisdom passed down through time by Indigenous Peoples.
Women for centuries have expressed themselves through the gift of basket weaving, sewing, the mandella, dream catchers, face painting, cooking, poetry, writing, dancing, and raising the children. We go back in time on this weekend to give ourselves permission to go back to our ancient knowingness of celebrating SELF!
Embraced with love and support we go to our sacred spots in nature to work with ourselves. We create prayer sticks to symbolize that which we choose to release to Great Spirit at this time.
In the custom of Indigenous People, fire is a symbol and modality for transforming and letting go the old to Great Spirit so it can be reformulated into what may serve us and our People. We have a ceremony on Saturday night of singing, dancing, face painting to celebrate the release of the old part of self that no longer serves us or our People. The celebration is done with great honor.
After we have released that which needs to be released, we again spend time with Great Spirit to allow that which needs to be revealed as to what we want/intend in our lives for the good of all our relations. We then make medicine bundles (pouches) with wildflower seeds and our request of our goals to be fulfilled. We bless these medicine bundles in a ceremony planting them so our goals will come into fruition. Knowing our Earthmother will nurture our dreams and our wildflower seeds to beautify all our relations.
Often times, because we are human and of the Western world, we do not get the messages which Great Spirit is sending us. Our dream time is often the time Great Spirit can speak to us with uninterrupted clarity. In order to remember these dreams we make dream catchers to catch our dreams and bring them into the physical manifestation in our human world.
All Indigenous People know that spirit is in everything. We learn to listen to the spirit in all things and use the Sacred Medicine which these things have to teach us to heal, learn, and grow. All are here for us to listen from the heart, but due to most of our Western way of thinking we have lost our ability to hear the messages from Great Spirit in the creatures big and small. Sacred Medicines of the winged ones, four legged ones, trees, wind, finned ones, stone people and insects have been powerful tools for all Indigenous People and you are taught how to use these gifts to help you get your answers.
This is a fun and powerful weekend in which we women come together to empower each other. Come and enjoy our Earth Mother at her greatest. She is waiting for you with open arms!
